Welcome to Sunny in Korea!
When people think of Sokcho, sparkling beaches and the famous Sokcho Eye usually come to mind first. But here is the real magic of traveling here: stepping away from the modern spots and diving into a deeply traditional Korean wellness ritual—the Jjimjilbang (public bathhouse and sauna).
While Finland has its famous sauna culture, South Korea takes sweating it out and relaxing to a whole new level. It is not just about cleansing the body; it is a beloved social and wellness tradition where locals go to relax, recharge, and unwind.
As a season pass holder at Sokcho Lotte Resort Water Park, I visit very often. Since I use both the water park and the Jjimjilbang regularly, I want to share the true charm of the Sokcho Lotte Resort Jjimjilbang through a local's eyes, including practical pricing, facility guides, and the best ways to enjoy it.
1. Getting Started: Pricing and Practical Info
To experience this slice of Korean lifestyle, admission is quite reasonable.
Basic Entry Fee: Around 18,000 KRW at the time of my visit, which gives you access to a world of relaxation.
How to Enter: Head to the front desk on the 2nd basement floor of the water park. Pay your fee, and you will receive an electronic wristband.
Smart Wristband System: This band is your key to your locker and acts as your wallet inside. You can conveniently charge it to buy snacks later and settle the final bill when you leave!
2. Inside the Facilities and Amenities
After checking in, head into the locker room to change.
Shower & Bath Facilities: You will find clean shower facilities equipped with hot and cold baths. The best part? Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and even body towels are provided.
Vanity Area: Fully stocked with skincare essentials like lotion and skin toner, plus hair dryers. You only need to bring your personal cosmetics and a light heart!
💡 Local Tip: Photography is strictly prohibited in the shower and locker areas for privacy.
3. The Jjimjilbang Tour: 6 Unique Theme Rooms

Once you change into your comfy Jjimjilbang clothes (a t-shirt and shorts provided at the entrance), head up to the 1st basement floor to discover a cozy, spacious healing zone featuring 6 different theme rooms:
Phytoncide Room: Filled with the soothing aroma of cypress wood, perfect for clearing your mind.
Clay & Salt Rooms: These are among the hottest rooms, ranging from 58°C to 61°C, and are popular with visitors who enjoy a good sweat
Gemstone Room: A milder option at around 54°C to 55°C if extreme heat isn't your style.
Ice Room: Dropping down to -14°C, this double-doored cold room is amazing for cooling down your body after a heated session.
Relaxation Room: Equipped with massage chairs to melt away your remaining fatigue.
4. Fun, Food, and Entertainment
Activities: There are arcade game machines for visitors of all ages, plus plenty of books and comic books to keep you cozy for hours.
Food Park: When you get hungry, head over to the snack bar. You can grab iconic treats like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) or chicken using your electronic wristband key.
Vibe: Chatting with friends or family over delicious snacks while lounging in your sauna clothes is a quintessential Korean experience. Before you know it, 2 to 3 hours will have flown right by!
5. Simple Tips for Your Visit
Plan Your Flow: Start with a soothing soak in the bath, move on to the hot theme rooms to sweat, cool down in the ice room, and finish with a relaxing snack at the Food Park.
Bring Some Cash or Cards: While the wristband handles most inside purchases, having your card or cash ready at the front desk makes things smooth.
Combine With Nearby Trips: Since it is located right inside Sokcho Lotte Resort, you can easily combine your spa day with a visit to the water park or nearby scenic coastal walks.
