Welcome to Sunny in Korea!
When people think of travel, they often think of packing bags and flying to another country. But ever since I moved to Sokcho—a coastal city on the East Sea of South Korea, located right next to Seoraksan National Park—I realized I do not need to go far.
Sokcho attracts millions of visitors every year who come to enjoy both the ocean and the mountain. Because of this high demand, Sokcho has a wide variety of large resorts and stay options compared to other coastal cities.
Following my previous guide on Lotte Resort Sokcho, today I am sharing an ultimate, highly detailed guide to another major stay option in town: Cassia Sokcho by Banyan Group.
Whether you are planning a trip with family, parents, or your dog, here is an all-in-one guide covering exact room layouts, check-in waiting hacks, parking tips, detailed facility hours, hidden costs, and local neighborhood walking guides so you do not need to spend time searching anywhere else!
1. Room Types, Detailed Layouts, and Realistic Pricing

Comes pre-equipped with a high-density pet mattress, low-slope pet stairs, non-slip food and water bowls, pee pads, and specialized pet odor neutralizers. / Average rate: 260,000 to 310,000 KRW per night

(Note: Prices fluctuate significantly between low season weekdays and summer peak/weekend holidays. Always verify exact rates prior to booking.)
2. Master Check-in Strategy and Parking Navigation
Check-in delays can ruin the start of a trip if you do not know how the system works. Here are the exact steps and insider tricks to save your time:
Standard Times: Official check-in starts at 15:00, and check-out is strictly at 11:00. Late check-out incurs a fee of 20,000 to 30,000 KRW per hour depending on room category and occupancy.
Kiosk Queue System: The tablet ticket kiosk for check-in queuing opens at 12:00 PM on the 4th floor lobby of Tower B. If you arrive early around 13:00 to 14:00, register your phone number at the kiosk immediately to get an early queue number.
Parking Access Hack: Parking is available from basement level B2 up to the 3rd floor above ground. Parking is free for staying guests (1 vehicle per room registered at front desk). Crucial Tip: Park your car on the 3rd floor parking garage. From the 3rd floor, you can walk straight to the central escalator or elevator bank that takes you directly to the 4th-floor main front desk without navigating through underground corridors.
Ocean View Stair Lounge: Between the 3rd and 4th floors, there is a giant open-tiered wooden stair lounge with floor-to-ceiling ocean windows. If you are waiting for your check-in turn between 14:00 and 15:00, grab a coffee from the nearby lounge cafe and relax on the plush cushions while taking in the sea view.

5. Local Neighborhood Guide (100% Walkable)
You do not need to drive or call a taxi to enjoy authentic local seafood or scenic coastal walks:
Daepo Port Fish Market (2 to 3 minutes walk): Located right outside the resort gates. Stroll through the traditional fish market lanes to sample famous Sokcho fried squid (오징어순대), snow crab sets, and fresh raw fish platters at local seafood restaurants.
Oeongchi Bada Hyanggi-ro Coastal Walk (5 to 10 minutes walk): A famous wooden boardwalk built along the dramatic sea cliffs connecting Oeongchi Beach to Sokcho Beach. Perfect for a morning post-breakfast walk or sunset photo session.
Important Practical Checklist Before Booking
Disposable Amenity Policy: In accordance with South Korean environmental laws, single-use toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, and facial cleansers are not provided for free in guest rooms. Please bring your own or purchase them at the 6th-floor Seven-Eleven store.
In-Room Jacuzzi Usage Tip: If staying in a suite with a balcony Jacuzzi, fill the tub at least 1 hour before you intend to use it, as water pressure can slow down during peak evening hours (19:00 – 21:00). Always check tub cleanliness before turning on jet sprays.
Cancellation & Amendment Rules: Standard flexible bookings allow 100% free cancellation up to 5 days prior to check-in (by 23:59 KST). Cancellations made within 3 days incur a 50% penalty, and same-day cancellations or no-shows are subject to a 100% penalty.
If you are planning a trip to Sokcho, Cassia Sokcho by Banyan Group provides an exceptional blend of ocean view comfort, comprehensive wellness options, and top-tier pet accommodation.
I hope this complete local guide helps you plan a seamless, worry-free trip to Sokcho with your family, parents, or pets!
